Brookwood Baptist Medical Center Holding Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Cath Lab

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Brookwood Baptist Medical Center will soon hold a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the opening of the hospital’s brand new Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, or ‘cath lab'.

A cath lab is a specialized area in the hospital where doctors perform minimally invasive tests and cardiac procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease.

Brookwood’s new cath lab, a 1,700 square-foot, $3.6 million renovation, has been active since mid-October and medical teams have already completed several cases.

The official ribbon cutting for the space will take place on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6:00 p.m. on the first floor of the hospital.

“We’re incredibly excited to add this new advanced technology to our hospital,” said Brookwood Baptist Medical Center CEO Jeremy Clark. “Investments like these create more opportunities to advance patient care and continue to offer Birmingham patients the high-quality care they’ve come to expect from Brookwood.”
