Palliative care is comprehensive treatment for the discomfort, symptoms and stress of serious illness. This specialized type of care treats both the patient and family - physically, socially, emotionally and/or spiritually to relieve any painful symptoms.
Our team of nurses, social workers, chaplains, nutritionists, and pharmacists works directly with the physician to provide treatment throughout the patient's illness.
No matter the diagnosis, palliative care can occur at anytime, even during treatment. Serious illnesses can cause exhaustion, anxiety and depression and will affect your quality of life. There's no reason to wait.
Yes. Hospice care is for patients approaching the final stage of life. Palliative Care is appropriate for any stage of a serious illness whether the patients is at home or in the hospital. Unlike hospice, patients can receive palliative care during treatment. Ask about our bereavement program.
If you have no already been referred for the team's services, ask your doctor, case manager, social worker or nurse for a referral. Our team is available 7 days a week.
