BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Brookwood Baptist Medical Center announced today that Susan “Sue” Hodgin, former Operating Room manager, has been honored by Tenet Healthcare as part of its annual recognition program. Susan has been named a Tenet Hero, with the additional honor of being inducted into the Tenet Heroes’ Hall of Fame. Though Sue departed this life in January of this year, her legacy continues to live on for how she served the Brookwood team with such humility and grace.

“Sue was a true inspiration and her actions made a positive and meaningful impact in our community each day,” said Jeremy Clark, CEO of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center.  “We were fortunate to serve alongside Sue and will miss her dedication, selfless nature and commitment to providing quality, compassionate care to our patients.”

The Tenet Heroes program celebrates those individuals who make a meaningful impact within their communities that goes above and beyond their daily responsibilities. Nominated by leadership and/or fellow colleagues, Tenet Heroes exemplify the company’s core values and commitment to its mission.

Each year, a select few are inducted into the Tenet Heroes’ Hall of Fame, the Company’s most prestigious honor for employees. This year, 23 individuals or teams were named to the Hall of Fame, including Sue Hodgin.

Sue was recognized as a Tenet Hero and Hall of Fame winner for her selfless attitude and leadership as OR manager for Brookwood Baptist Medical Center
